alright, i haven't got down to changing my blog layout yet, but i decided to blog before my memories of last Friday start fading away.

Anyway, i HAVE to blog about last fri cause it was possibly the most exciting day of the year so far!
it was a rather productive day, since we(part of the class) essentially supported 2 events.
Netball finals (xinlei!) and co concert (jason!)

well, those who were present at the netball finals will understand what i mean when i say it was ___________!
i can't even think of a proper word to describe it cause it was sosososososo heartstopping-ly exciting!
from the second the whistle blew to signal the start of the first quarter, the tension just started building and building, even during the breaks after every quarter.
I must say the RJ netball team was the dark horse this time round, considering both RJ and ACJC's previous matches against HCI. (we beat HC by 2 points while AC beat them by a whopping 30+ points)
Still, the netball girls put up what i thought was a very good fight, and for most of the match, were trailing by a mere 3-4 points.

As the first quarter drew to a close, the teams were tied at 10-10 after our netball girls managed to close the 3-4 point gap during the last few minutes.
After the second quarter, we were trailing by about 8 points (if i rmb correctly)
But the girls put in a really good fight during the third quarter and caught up until only a 3 point gap remained at the end of the 3rd quarter.
Undeniably, the last quarter was the most exciting since the last 15mins were crucial in determining the outcome of the match.
For most of the last quarter, the 3 point gap remained since everytime we scored a point, the other team would score a point too.
But at the very last few minutes(the netball girls seem to have a knack for last minute comebacks), the team played extremely well i thought, and we miraculously managed to bounce back.
It was SO tense cause the clock had stopped by this time, signalling that the game had gone into the 1 minute overtime.
And it was only during this 1 minute overtime that the final, deciding point was scored.
I think it was clear to see that the netball girls and all the Raffles supporters were pretty delirious with joy when the final whistle blew, ending the game with a score of 51-50 to RJ.

Even though i was merely a passive observer, the surge of adrenaline and happiness i felt was really unbelivable.
I guess i really lack the experience of being on this side of the playing stage so to speak, since i very very rarely go for match supports.
but this is probably one of the reasons i felt such a strong surge of emotions since
going to many match supports would probably have dulled such feelings.
Anyway, what i must say is that i really admired the netball girls' fighting spirit throughout!
Never once leading throughout the entire game (except for the very first goal of the game which RJ scored) must have been terribly worrying and demoralising for the team, but i thought it was awesome how they managed to pull through at the very end, where the pressure to catch up would have been at its highest.
But i guess maintaining their cool and having that 'never say die' attitude was what led them to victory, and i must say that they really deserved it! (:
So, congrats to them! (: (because i know xinlei reads my blog hehe (: (: )

okay, that aside.

After mulling around toa payoh for awhile, yujun yy chara jocelyn weiming and i headed down to tanjong pagar to support jason (the CHAIR of CO)at his CO concert.
Admittedly we were dreading it since it was kind of an anticlimax after the heart-pumping excitement of the netball finals, but it turned out to be a pretty nice end to what had been an exciting but exhausting day.

As expected, a certain person fell asleep (nearly the entire 2nd half!) though he claimed to be Jason's loyal friend. haha!
and of course said person denied falling asleep even though i have incontrovertible proof in my phone since Chara very kindly took a photo hehehe.
Thought the concert was pretty good even though some parts sounded messy.
(but who am i to judge anyway cause i'm not an expert in co music haha)
the Pirate of the Caribbeans theme song was really enjoyable and sounded surprisingly good delievered with Chinese instruments (:
anyway, after the concert ended, we handed Jason the very nicely decorated sunflower we got for him and then we all headed off for home!

Overall, it was a really good day and it was the perfect start to a long weekend!

oh btw,
David Archuleta's performance during the AI finals today was SUPERB!
like Simon said, it was so totally a knockout! :D
haha.
i apologise to David Cook fans, but to me, it's pretty clear who has the more superior voice quality and who is better able to captivate the audience through his singing.
But on his part, i think david cook made the wrong song choices, so he could definitely have done better.
